Brazilian Hot Sauce Molho Apimentado Bliss of Cooking

1 small green bell pepper, cored,seeded and minced 1⁄4 cup vinegar 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil salt Mix all ingredients. Add water if the vinegar taste is too strong. Just before serving add 1/2 cup of feijoada liquid and 1 or 2 finely chopped malagueta peppers. I usually do not add the peppers but use a few drops of the liquid instead.

1 cup tomatoes, cored and diced about 3 tomatoes. 1 cup diced green bell pepper about 1 small bell pepper (cored, seeded and diced) 1 cup diced onion about 1/2 an onion. ½ cup of a good olive oil. ¼ white wine vinegar or more if you like it more vinegary. Salt and pepper to taste.

Step 1. Place all ingredients except the olive oil in a small bowl or mortar. Allow to macerate for 20 minutes or longer. Just before serving, mash to a paste, and stir in the olive oil.
